How does Gene Companion benefit me?

By using information about your medications and unique genetic makeup, doctors and healthcare providers will have further insight into how specific medications may affect you personally.

Do I have to see a doctor to get tested?

No. You can order your Gene Companion test directly through the Gene Companion website.

How does the test work?

The test is a non-invasive saliva or mouth swab sample that can be taken at your physician's office or home using our FDA-cleared collection device. Once the sample is collected, it is shipped back in the postage-paid package and then sent to the lab for genetic processing.

How do I know if you received my test kit?

The Gene Companion team will contact you when your test kit is received. You can always contact our customer service team to verify this and answer any other questions you might have.

When will I get my results?

Once we receive your DNA sample, it usually takes four to six (4-6) weeks to complete the testing process.

Will I have to take the test more than once?

No, since your DNA does not change, the test only needs to be performed once. In addition, the app is automatically updated as new research on specific genes and variants becomes available.

How can the Gene Companion app help me?

The Gene Companion app can be a valuable tool to help you take control of the management of your health by analyzing your current drugs, including over-the-counter drugs, and any new drugs prescribed to you against several factors such as Drug to Gene, Drug to Drug, Drug to Illness, Drug to Known Allergies, Drug to Food, and Drug to Lifestyle factors.
